Our Mission
Hernando County has a significant number of children facing homelessness. These young individuals often lack access to basic necessities, let alone the little things that bring happiness. The Matthew Project was created to help bring some happiness during the Christmas Season to the children who need it most.
What We Do
In conjunction with our local schools, businesses, churches, and civic organizations, we provide local homeless children with:
Special Christmas Gifts: Toys, books, and holiday presents to bring joy and comfort during special occasions.
Our aim is to ensure these children experience moments of joy and kindness, reminding them that they are not alone.
How You Can Help

- Sponsor a Child: We accept donations of new Christmas items from the child’s provided wishlist.
